BEAUTY OF THE BURDEN
Genevieve Cohn - Mindy Solomon Gallery
Virtual Gallery Design + Rendering
Released: 2020
The virtual space exists beyond gravity, engineering, or time. They’re not here to compete with physical galleries — they offer something else: accessibility and fantasy.
When curator Che Morales approached me to build a virtual gallery for Genevieve Cohn, I didn’t hesitate. I was already drawn to the idea of virtual travel and immersive digital environments.
Like Genevieve’s paintings, worldbuilding takes a village and resourcefulness. Every digital material in the space was hand-crafted to evoke emotion and activate architecture, even in a virtual format.
This isn’t just about showcasing art. It’s about changing how we engage with content. From art to shopping to communication, these environments allow users to move freely, take control, and experience something uniquely theirs.
The power of this medium is how it’s participatory, personal, and accessible in a way real life often isn’t.
We’re not just building galleries. We’re rethinking space, authorship, and what it means to connect.
